SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Oct. 24, 2005—
EVE (Emulation and Verification Engineering) today
announced that P.A. Semi has utilized its ZeBu-XL hardware-assisted
verification platform in the design of its PWRficient platform
processor. P.A. Semi unveiled its new multicore, 64-bit, scalable
processor family today in conjunction with demonstrations based on
ZeBu-XL during the In-Stat Fall Processor Forum at the Doubletree
Hotel here.
Over the last six months, P.A. Semi verified and interactively
debugged its high-performance, low-power microprocessor core and
system-on-chip (SoC) design using the ZeBu (for Zero Bugs) high-speed,
high-capacity emulation platform. Two ZeBu boxes were used
concurrently for running different workload and random tests.
Developed for large SoC designs, each has 32 Xilinx Virtex-II 8000
field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
"ZeBu is the most impressive hardware-assisted verification
platform on the market today," says Tse-Yu Yeh, Director of
Architecture and Verification, P.A. Semi. "From our rigorous
evaluations and then testing and debug, EVE has built the best
hardware-assisted verification solution available."
Adds Lauro Rizzatti, general manager of EVE-USA and vice president
of worldwide marketing: "P.A. Semi's designers put us through the
paces and we're delighted that they are pleased with the results they
got from using ZeBu."
